The Clipper Race

The Seattle waterfront, Bell Harbor Marina is the place to capture the Clipper 2015-16  Race fleet. Jesse Tam suggests this excellent event for locals and visitor. The fleet arrived for the first time in its twenty year history between April 15-20th. They will be in downtown Seattle until April 28th.  SR520 will be closed this weekend if traveling from eastside or Bellevue.

The public will have an opportunity to visit the yachts, meet race crew, attend public talks and participate in sailing experience. Race Village will open open daily from 1000 - 1900 on Wednesday, April 20 - 28th.  It will feature a variety of activities from public talks and entertainment.  See below for details for events.

Mariners Opening Season Safeco Field

Seattle is proud to welcome Ken Griffey, Jr back to Safeco Field.  He will be inducted into the   National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown in July. Griffey is the  first player as a Mariner to be inducted.  A celebration is planned later in the season to recognized his induction.  Opening season for the Seattle Mariner's home game on Friday, April 8 against the Oakland Athletics was another sold out crowd.  A perfect spring evening with the first pitch by no other than our own Ken Griffey Jr. who came out of retirement momentarily.

A favorite time for families with a additional play area this season and more food vendors to help satisfy those hungry appetites during the games.  Let's hope for a winning season and get back into the lineup of wins and strike outs.reat memories for all the years playing baseball as "the kid".
